Welcome to France
Situated on the edge of a forest, the little hamlet of La Grande Tranchée provides a haven for its inhabitants and visitors alike. This typical French farming community offers a friendly welcome to all who choose to stay.
The countryside around the hamlet is part forest and part arable. The farmer keeps some livestock including a flock of sheep, goats for milking and two beautiful riding horses which can be seen lazily grazing across the lane from your garden. The sheep occasionally wander free around the hamlet looking for the best field to graze in! So please drive carefully.
The cottage garden has a sunny aspect and is planted with maple, cherry, silver birch, roses, lavender, ceanothus, magnolia, hibiscus, geraniums etc etc. The large BBQ provides 'would be chefs' a chance to show off their culinary skills whilst the ladies enjoy a well earned rest, perhaps sipping a glass of wine or taking a dip in the pool.
So to re-cap, if you like bird watching, forest and countryside walks and would like a really comfortable holiday home (or temporary base whilst house hunting) then this could be your ideal location. With no less than three (very different) market towns in close proximity you will be spoilt for choice when arranging shopping forays and trips to 'market'
